This project analyzes the shelf prices of 17 core grocery items from two supermarkets in Brownsville, Brooklyn: C-Town Supermarket and Fine Fare Supermarket. Prices were collected manually through in-store observations and recorded in R. The analysis summarizes price differences, visualizes item-level comparisons, and reflects on data limitations such as brand variability and store assortment. Although the original plan included comparing Brownsville to Lower Manhattan, this Phase 1 report focuses solely on Brownsville due to the time and scale of manual data collection.
