Understanding Pedestrian Risk with FARS
The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) developed the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) to record motor vehicle crashes resulting in fatality. These data will be used to make counter measure recommendations for cities where risk to pedestrians is high.
