This vignette introduces the concept of the integrated autocorrelation time (IAC) and demonstrates how it can be practically calculated and applied to compare convergence rates of different MCMC schemes. As an example, Gibbs samplings (GS) and the Metropolis-Hastings (MH) algorithm are implemented for an Ising model and their convergence rates are compared directly.
