Storm Data Analysis: Effects of U.S. Weather Events on Population Health and the Economy
This goal of this analysis is to determine which types of weather events are the most harmful to population health and the United States economy, inform policy-makers about preventative measures and preparing for severe weather events, as well as to define the prioritization and allocation of resources for different types of events in the most effective way possible. This report used data distributed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It follows a simple approach to produce two ranking results, each listing the most dangerous/destructive weather event types observed in the United States between 1996 and 2011.
